About
Renée Kahn was born in New York City at the start of the Great Depression. She received her art training at the High School of Music & Art in Manhattan and advanced degrees in Art and Art History at the City College of New York. However, most of her knowledge comes from living in the City and participating in the art world around her. Over the decades, her style has evolved from early satirical paintings to recent experiments with surrealism. She continues to work daily in her North Stamford studio creating large scale “dream-state" polyptychs as well as experiments with projected imagery.
